Leigh Johnson is the U.S. Marshal of Armadillo, a settlement in the territory of New Austin. He is a central character in the storyline of Red Dead Redemption. Johnson is an old-fashioned lawman with a strong no-nonsense ethic. He is characterized as tough, straight to the point, and is not afraid to get aggressive, all while remaining fair to the law. Johnson does his best to maintain law and order in the town of Armadillo while the world around them progresses into modernity. The Marshal also commands a couple of inept deputies, one of which is Jonah.
Johnson carries a pair of nickel-plated Cattleman Revolvers, a weapon based on the infamous Colt Single Action Army. He is only ever seen, in combat, wielding one of these revolvers.[1]
Storyline
Marshal Leigh Johnson is a character which gives Marston various missions and jobs. Eventually working alongside Johnson in return for Johnson's assistance in breaching the walls of the nearby Fort Mercer. Marston will effectively serve as a deputy in gameplay missions and will be introduced to be able to bring captured outlaws or criminals you catch to him in turn for bounty rewards. he and John part ways after the battle for Fort Mercer.

- Leigh Johnson appears in a promotional video for Red Dead Redemption titled "The Law" and is shown kicking an outlaw and ordering John Marston to hog-tie him so they can bring him to jail.
